Last month Absolut unveiled its latest creation, Absolut Boston, black tea and elderflower flavored vodka. Curious to see what students think of this new concoction, FM's Roving Reporter hit the streets.

Roving Reporter: Are you 21?

Madison O. Klein: Yes.

RR: Have you ever tried Absolut Boston?

MOK: No

RR: Do you want to taste it?

MOK: Sure.

RR: (Pours some into dining hall glass). How did it taste?

MOK: Like flavored vodka.

RR: What flavors?

MOK: It tasted like elderflower and black tea. It was incredible. It totally fired in my black tea and elderflower taste bud regions as if they were my six and seventh taste buds.

RR: Right. And you’ve never had Absolut Boston before.

MOK: Nope.

RR: Well then, what is an elderflower?

MOK: Ummm… a flower that grows on an edlderbush?

Benjamin Massenburg ’11: I’ll Wiki it for you. (Takes out phone) Oh, it’s actually called “Sambucus” and it is a genus of between 5 and 30 species of shrubs or small trees in the moschatel family, Adoxaceae.

RR: So, what’s your favorite drink?

MOK: I like flavored vodka. Elderflower actually. It’s of the genus sambucus.

RR: Are you 21?

MNB: No.

RR: So what do you think Absolut Boston would taste like?

MNB: Rich tradition. Maybe like baked beans.

RR: And what about Absolut Harvard?

RR: My roommate’s a DAPA. My guess is, Absolut Harvard tastes like abstinence.

RR: Are you 21?

SFK: Yes.

RR: Want to try Absolut Boston?

SFK: Yes.

RR: (pours small amount in dining hall cup) So, what does Absolut Boston taste like?

SFK: It’s a cross between bubble gum and anise plus lots of alcohol. I don’t like it that much. It’s pretty mediocre.

RR: Would you consider yourself a Matt Damon or Ben Affleck person?

SFK: Definitely Matt Damon. Ben Affleck hasn’t made anything good since Good Will Hunting.

RR: So, maybe we should call it Absolut Ben Affleck.

RR: So are you guys 21?

All three: Nope.

RR: Well…what do you think Absolut Boston would taste like?

AA: It would taste like rain.

DG: Probably like bad weather and crazy sport fans.

DSL: Tastes like excellence.

RR: But you guys aren’t 21.

DE: Right, we’ve never drank before.

RR: Sure. Well what do you think your first drink will be?

DSL: I’ll probably chill out with a nice bottle of Corona. When I get crazy, a little Morgan and Coke or Vodka Cranberry.

AA: I’m going to start with straight shots and then pop bottles.

DG: So what’s this for again?

RR: FM, the weekend magazine of The Harvard Crimson.

DG: Wait…we’re going to be in FM? Really? Sick! I’m a fan. I read it every week.

RR: Glad to hear it. So, what would Absolut Harvard taste like?

DG: Boring, bland. It would probably be be 1% alcohol.

STL: It would taste like locally grown, eco-friendly butternut squash.

DG: Damn sure it wouldn’t taste like hot breakfast!

RR: Are you 21?

Anonymous: Yes.

RR: Do you want to try Absolut Boston?

A: Sure, why not. (Grabs handle and takes a swig).

RR: So, how was it?

A: Did I really just drink vodka from a paper bag at 1:15 pm in Quincy Couryard? I’m slowly becoming a homeless person.
