Dennis E. Lloyd is the great-great-great-great grandson of Tony and Cuba Vassall, two people enslaved by Harvard affiliates in the 18th century. Tony and Cuba Vassall’s son, Darby Vassall — who is buried in Christ Church — was a renowned Black rights advocate in the Boston area.
