Shuttles Strand Students Despite 24-Hour Pledge

“We’re in the process now of investigating those complaints,” said Carl Tempesta, Operations Manager for Passenger Transport and Fleet Management Services.

According to Tempesta, the problem could be quite simple.

“The bus driver’s clock and the student’s watch may be off by a minute or two,” he said.

Tempesta mentioned the possibility of having drivers leave one minute after the scheduled departure time in order to rectify the problem, but said that Shuttle Services would need to investigate the situation thoroughly before taking action.

In addition to improving consistency, students also hope that Shuttle Services will be able to provide extended service during term-time.

“It would be great if it was all year, especially on the weekends,” said Von Tobel.

Tempesta said it was not out of the question.

“That’s definitely an option that we’d like to look at,” he said.

While some students find themselves irritated by the inconsistent service, others are surprised to even hear that the shuttles were running all night.

“If I would have known there was a shuttle last night I would have taken one,” said Von Tobel.
