Nantucket Nectars Rents D.U. Building

"It was a perfect fit," said Conti, adding that the company sought a Harvard Square location for more than a year before finding the Dunster Street building.

Scott said that Dunster Street--situated near the MAC and student houses--is the perfect spot for Nantucket Nectars.

New Venture

According to Conti, Nantucket Nectars' venture into a juice bar represents a much-anticipated expansion of the seven-year-old, multi-million-dollar business.

"What Starbucks does with coffee, we want to do with juice," said Conti, who recently spent four months in California researching successful juice bar in preparation for his Harvard Square opening. He said Stanford currently has a successful juice bar on its campus.

"We want to bring the label to life," Conti said. "We want to provide a venue for people to come by and meet Tom and Tom--to meet the new neighbors."

The Zoning Appeals Board will meet at 7:45 tonight in City Hall.

If the variance is denied at this meeting, then the company will have to wait at least two more years before applying for another variance.

Scott, First and Conti said they hope students come to the meeting to show their support of the project
