Winless Trip for W. Hockey

Icewomen fall to Cornell, 3-2; Tie St. Lawrence, 1-1

With two penalties, Duval was forced to sit out for four of the remaining five minutes.

Less than a minute later, a St. Lawrence player was called on a penalty and the teams skated four on four.

Shortly thereafter, Harvard freshman forward Catherine Kreindler was called for interference. It was three on four in St. Lawrence's favor.

Not to be outdone, St. Lawrence took another penalty and left a three-on-three situation. The ice was looking empty.

Later, as the penalty box continued to empty, Harvard found itself on the powerplay for a brief stint at the end of the game.

In that brief stint St. Lawrence notched it's first goal of the game, knotting the score at a heartbreaking 1-1 with only one second left in regulation.

The game went into overtime, but neither team managed to score the game-winner.

St. Lawrence (0-3-2) had had a one second grace period, and it had tied Harvard (2-4-1), 1-1.

As the Harvard gets ready to face Brown Wednesday, it holds memories of the St. Lawrence tie.

"It was a really exciting game," Frump said. "We played well together, and next time we'll hold on to it."

"We showed maturity and improved a great deal," junior Colleen Malek said.

The Crimson, but for a second, had secured the win against St. Lawrence. The team came together, the freshman contributed and the new line changes were working.

Hopefully for the Crimson, it will all come together again--this time as a win against Brown in Harvard's next league competition. Harvard  2 Cornell  3
