Football Varsity Picked for Third

The Crimson football team has been picked for third place in the Ivy League next year, it was revealed yesterday. An "anonymous winter book" compiling the different strengths of the teams gave this prediction at a Monday meeting of the league's grid coaches in Boston.

Coach John Yovicsin expresesd pleasure at his team's rating, although he was quoted as saying, "We have a veteran backfield, but the team is still a question mark. We lost all but one starter in the line."

Dartmouth and Princeton were picked as favorites to win the league title, while Yale is slated to finish in "the middle ground."

The coaches, in town primarily to discuss current league rules and policies, spent most of the day trying to organize a more effective arrangement for officiating games.

Yovicsin advocated four teams of officials which would work together throughout the season, each man gaining thereby greater proficiency at his particular job. In the present system, the several league officials are not assigned to a particular position, and their colleagues vary in the different games.
