Yale Debate Ticket Distribution

There will be a distribution of tickets for the Harvard-Yale debate, which will be held in Sanders Theatre on next Friday evening, to members of the University in the debating rooms in Dane Hall this morning from 10 to 12 o'clock. As admission to the debate will be by ticket only, it is important that all members of the University who wish to hear it should apply for tickets early. Persons not connected with the University may obtain tickets by applying by mail to D. Rosenblum, Dane Hall. All applications must contain stamped and addressed envelopes. Owing to the demand for tickets, each applicant may obtain but two tickets.

The tickets for the debate will not admit to special reserved seats, but to sections of the theatre. All seats on the floor will be reserved for members of the Faculty, officers of the University and former University debaters. The first balcony will be reserved for members of the University and of neighboring institutions. It is planned, however, to have the members of the debating clubs and as many undergraduates as possible seated together in the three centre sections in the second balcony, as is the custom at Oxford and Cambridge, in order to have a distinct University section.

Work of the University Team.

The University team, which is made up of A. H. Elder '07, G. J. Hirsch '07, and H. Hurwitz '08, has been working steadily since November 6. They were well-grounded in the rudiments of debating at the start, and after a series of personal conferences with the coach, E. M. Rabenold 3L., they have developed a strong case in support of the negative side of the subject for the debate: "Resolved, That further restriction of immigration is undesirable."

For the past two weeks the team has been holding practice debates three times a week with the second team, which is made up of E. R. Lewis '08 J. W. Russell 2L., and I. L. Sharfman '07. During these debates they have materially strengthened their argument, and, aided by suggestions from Professor Winter, have improved very much in form. Practice will continue until next Wednesday.
