Techmen Drop Drive As Police Investigate

Loud fanfare which accompanied the birth of the M.I.T. scheme to change the name of Harvard Bridge into something more technical, seems to have died down to a mere laboratory whisper, editors of the student newspaper, "The Tech", revleaded yesterday.

Not that they had run out of ideas; nothing so untechnical as that. The fact is that some students--and any Technite will swear they were from Harvard--took advantage of the uproar to perpetrate a nefarious crime, namely the theft of a plate from the bridge which bears the solemn designation "Harvard Bridge.

Until it is returned, Technology students are faced with the threat of a police investigation. Apparently they would rather let the bridge keep its present name than draw the eye of Mickey Sullivan's gendarmerie upon their machinations through any new publicity stunts.
