A correspondent makes some valuable suggestions in this morning's Crimson for improvement in the method of selling tickets for the Harvard-Yale game in future years. It seems to us that what he calls his second plan would go far toward the solution of the problems which face the managers of the eleven in this matter. The plan is to increase the price of season tickets by the price of a reserved seat ticket for the Harvard-Yale game and insure to every holder of a season ticket one seat for the great game of the year. Certainly the adoption of the plan would be an excellent thing for the Foot Ball Association. It would inevitably increase the sale of season tickets. Not only would more men buy a single season ticket, but without doubt many men would be glad to buy two or more for the sake of securing that many reserved seats for the Yale game. They would do this the more willingly because they would know that, though they were thus paying a premium for their tickets, the money would go into the treasury of the Foot Ball Association, and not into the pockets of speculators outside the college, or, what is even worse, of speculators within the college. By this plan season ticket holders have the advantage, and it is right that they should have, for it is they who do most to support the team financially.

The method proposed for disposing of the tickets remaining after the season ticket holders have been provided for also has much to recommend it. These tickets he would distribute according to seniority of classes, so that every man in the University who desires to attend the game should have one ticket. The tickets still remaining would go on the same basis to those who have applied for them.

Whether the plan here outlined is entirely feasible or not we do not undertake to say; but it should prove suggestive to those who manage the 'varsity eleven. The problem of how the sale of seats for the game at Springfield shall be managed must receive some satisfactory solution before next year, and the sooner we begin to discuss it the better.
