Coming off a weekend performance in which he scored a combined 56 points, including 32 in an upset of Cornell Saturday night, Harvard men’s basketball captain Jim Goffredo has been named the Ivy League Player of the week.

Goffredo, who earned Player of the Week honors once earlier this season in December, shot 54.5 percent from the floor and 52.4 perccent from three-point range over the weekend, also hitting on 9-of-10 tries from the free-throw line.

The career-culminating honor ends an up-and-down senior season for Goffredo. He shot just 32.7 percent from the field for the year, managing just a 35.7 percent clip from behind the arc. Goffredo was second on the team in scoring at 15.4 points per game, two behind center Brian Cusworth, who graduated in January.

Goffredo made history on Saturday, becoming the Crimson’s first player to ever score 30 or more points in three games.

Last month, Goffredo was selected as a member of ESPN The Magazine’s Academic All-America second team. He ends his collegiate career ranked 15th on Harvard’s all-time scoring list, with 1,117.
