M. Tennis to Face Miss. State

The Harvard men's tennis team will face Mississippi State in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen on Saturday.

The match will take place at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA at 2 p.m.

Harvard (21-8, 8-0 EITA), which is ranked 22nd in the nation, earned its right to the Sweet Sixteen by defeating Virginia Tech and No. 12 Florida in the Regionals of the NCAA Tournament last weekend at Harvard. There were eight such regionals across the nation, and eight other teams recieved first-round byes.

The Bulldogs (19-5) won the Southeastern Confernce Tournament, giving MSU bye to the Sweet Sixteen. Ranked ninth in the country, the Bulldogs drew the fourth seed in the tournament and are led by Thomas Dupree, the ninth-ranked singles player in the country.

However, Harvard sophomore Thomas Blake defeated Florida's Damon Henkel on Sunday, the seventh-ranked singles player in the country.

The Crimson did not recieve a seeding in the Sweet Sixteen. Instead, the 13th- through 16th-ranked teams were randomly assigned to the first-through fourth-ranked teams.
