Cronkhite Center to Sponsor Louisa May Alcott Presentation

The Cronkhite Graduate Center will host a portrayal of Louisa May Alcott later this month as part of a fundraiser for Cambridge hunger and housing relief programs.

The presentation, entitled "Meet Louisa May Alcott," is scheduled for Wednesday, February 22 at 7 p.m.

Alcott will be portrayed by Marianne Donnelly, a prominent local actress who has received accolades from both the Boston Globe and the Washington Post.

"It's a touring show we've been doing for the past three years," she said.

Donnelly said the forty minute show will profile Alcott's childhood and services as a Civil War nurse, abolitionist leader, and woman's suffrage crusader.

Donations of five dollars or more will be accepted at the door.

Former Black Panther to Speak On Feminism and Civil Rights

Kathleen N. Cleaver, a former leading activist of the Black Panther Party, will lecture on feminist and civil rights issues later this month.

Cleaver's address is part of Schlesinger Library's celebration of Black History Month. The presentation will be Tuesday, February 28 at 7:30 pm at Cronkhite Graduate Center.

Cleaver worked with the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee before joining the Black Panthers in the late 1960s, serving as one of the party's highest-ranking female members.

Cleaver holds a law degree from Yale Law School and teaches at Emory University. She is currently on leave and serves as a Bunting fellow at Radcliffe College.   C.R. McFadden LAW SCHOOL

Law School to Host Symposium On Sports and Entertainment

Harvard Law School's Committee on Sports and Entertainment Law will host its annual symposium Friday and Saturday, February 23-24.

The two-day seminar will feature discussions by representatives from corporations such as Nike, Sony, MTV, and the National Basketball Association.

Friday's schedule features two panel discussions focusing on labor relations and the legal representation of professional athletes.

Four panel discussions are planned for Saturday. They will examine current legal trends in the motion picture, music, and media industries.

The seminar will be held at Pound Hall and Austin Hall on the law school campus. Discussions are open to the public, but seating will be limited.   C.R. McFadden
