This is not last year's editorial, but it may be last year's paper. In efforts to promote conservation and to help protect the environment for our precarious future, The Harvard Crimson is switching over to printing on recycled paper.
The paper is 40 percent post consumer waste recycled stock and the recycled product comes from the Boston area. With our new paper, The Crimson is on the cutting edge of news pulp products. As de-inking procedures become more common and less expensive, the recycled fibers may soon be standard for all news publications. There is even a bill pending in Congress to make using recycled paper mandatory.
You may not think The Crimson is worth the paper it's printed on, but some day it may be. Just give us a little time.
