Most remnants of Wednesday's snowstorm had washed away by the time The Game kicked off this afternoon at the Stadium.

But for the Harvard men's soccer team, the Game had already been snowed out.

The booters faced Yale Sunday in opening-round NCAA action, and notched a 1-0 victory (2-1 in penalty kicks) over the visiting Elis on Ohiri Field. The regular-season Harvard-Yale match-up, originally scheduled for this morning, had been re-scheduled for Wednesday.

But after the mid-week storm, the Crimson and the Elis decided to cancel the showdown. Yale, undefeated in Ancient Eight play, ended the year as Ivy League champion.

Harvard, on the other hand, has one major consolation--it is still alive in the NCAA tourney, and hosts Boston University at Ohiri tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m.

The Crimson (8-3-3 regular season) and the Terriers (16-1-3) will battle to determine the New England regional champions. Tomorrow's winner will go on to face the New York champion--either Hartwick or Long Island University--next weekend.

B.U. hosted Harvard on the artificial turf of Nickerson Field earlier this season, and triumphed, 2-1. As New England's top-ranked squad, the Terriers received a bye in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.

Freshman John Glynn leads B.U. in scoring with 12 goals, while junior Francis Okaroh has chipped in with 11 tallies on the year.

The Crimson's attack is led by the high-scoring trio of freshman Derek Mills, junior Nick Hotchkin and senior John Catliff.

In net, Harvard goalie Chad Reilly is fresh off his four-of-five save performance in Sunday's Yale shootout. For B.U., senior netminder John Moe enters tomorrow's contest with a 0.42 goals-against average.
