Clarkson 7, Men's hockey 3

The Harvard men's volleyball team upped its record to 5-1 with 3-0 victories over the University of Rhode Island (15-11, 15-7, 15-10) and the University of New Hampshire (15-6, 15-8, 15-6) Saturday. The squad will play Springfield College Tuesday night at the IAB, 6:30 p.m.

Sophomore Don Fleming was named to the first team All-Ivy basketball squad, along with Peter Moss of Brown, Randy Melville of Princeton, James Salters of Penn and Larry Zigarelli of Yale.

The men's tennis team won the consolation division of the Corpus Christi Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament in Corpus Christi, Tex., this weekend. After losing to Witchita State in the first round, the Crimson went on to defeat Illinois State, the University of Oklahoma and Lamar University to take the consolation title.

NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Guard Rob Foster and forward Mike Sanders led UCLA to a shocking 77-71 upset of number one-ranked DePaul in the second round of the Far West regional yesterday.

Seventh-ranked Indiana held off Virginia Tech, 68-59, in the second round to the Mideast regionals yesterday in Bowling Green, Ky.

In the second round of the East regional, sixth-ranked Syracuse cruised by Villanova, 97-83, in Providence, R.I.

In the other second round contest in Providence, Craig Shelton's 27 points keyed 11th-ranked Georgetown's 74-71 defeat of 19th-ranked Iona.

Other second round NCAA action: Texas A&M needed two overtimes to defeat North Carolina, 68-61, in the Midwest; Kentucky topped Florida State, 97-78, in the Mideast; and LSU had little trouble with Alcorn State, winning 98-88 in another Midwest regional contest.
