Dartmouth Concert

The Harvard Band held its annual fall concert, featuring Boston Symphony Orchestra's trombone soloist Ronald Baron, last night.

Thomas G. Everett, director of bands called the concert, which traditionally precedes the Dartmouth game, "probably our best concert of the year."

The program opened with the jazz Band, featuring Bill Thompson, a Boston musician, as the guest soloist. The Concert Band and Baron followed with Arthur Pryor's "The Bluebells of Scotland."

The first annual Stephen D. MacDiarmid Band Award was presented to Lisa Hirschorn '81 by Edith MacDiarmid, the late student's mother.

The Marching Band, conducted by Jack Barbash '78, played during the third section of the program. The concert concluded with the singing of traditional College songs.
