When JIM KUBACKI took the nation's lead in total offense after the first game of the season, no one thought that it would last. Four weeks later, however, the Crimson quarterback is still among the leaders, currently ranking second. Kubacki has accounted for 1103 yards in 164 plays for a 6.7 average and 11 touchdowns.

Other Ivy players atop the nation's stats include Brown end BOB FARNHAM, first in the receiving department with 32 receptions for 389 yards. Princeton's NEIL CHAMBERLAIN is third, while GARY FENCIK of Yale stands fifth.

According to this week's Lambert Trophy voting, Harvard's football team is the best in the Ivies, at least for now. The Crimson is ranked sixth, one ahead of Yale and three in front of Brown. Princeton and Dartmounth are not in the top ten. These teams were all ranked ahead of Harvard at one time this year.

Don't worry, though, the Crimson will not be awarded the Lambert Trophy, given annually to the best team in the east. There are still some other contenders, like Penn State, Navy, Colgate, Syracuse, and Pittsburgh.
