The FRESHMAN SOCCER team rallied from a two-goal deficit yesterday to defeat the Excter varsity 3-2. Peter Schulte scored with just 30 seconds remaining in the game to win it for Harvard. Antonio Ardila and Marco Williams had the other two yardling scores.

The reborn J.V. SOCCER team downed Tufts on Tuesday, 5-1, in Cambridge. The squad, which had been dropped two years ago, has an eight-game schedule this season.

This week's NCAA football statistics have been released, and on the basis of his single performance against Holy Cross last Saturday, JIM KUBACKI leads the nation in total offense with an average of 258 yards per game. BOB BATEMAN of Brown is third after a 248-yard afternoon against URI, and Penn's JACK WIXTED is fifth. Wixted is also listed as the top rusher in the nation, after romping 200 yards in a losing cause to Lehigh. Kubacki is third on the national rushing list.

PRINCETON leads all colleges in pass defense, as the Tigers limited Rutgers to just 34 yards in the air last weekend.

In soccer, this week's New England poll rated BROWN as a unanimous choice for first place despite the fact the Bruins had not yet opened their season. The Bruins, however, did not disappoint their supporters, as they shut out B.U., 6-0 Tuesday.

With competition from the A.L. playoffs this Saturday, HARVARD and WMEX are opening a "Transistor Territory" in the Stadium so fans can watch football and listen to the Sox at the same time.

Sections 1 and 2 will be sold at a reduced rate to all groups that come equipped with a transistor radio, and for the first time ever the price of sideline tickets will be reduced to $3.
