Black Women Plan Panel Discussion On Role in Society

Black women in the Harvard-Radcliffe community will meet at Radcliffe today and tomorrow in a series of workshops to discuss and analyze the roles and images of the black woman in society.

The symposium, called "The Black Woman/Myths and Realities," is a series of discussions led by black women from the Boston and Cambridge communities and the East Coast.

Better Understanding

The workshops, organized by Doris Mitchell, assistant dean of Radcliffe, are intended to develop a better understanding of the black woman and her interactions with others in society, which will hopefully put black women in a better position to make an impact on and contribute to society.

Panelists will include poetess and novelist Alice Walker, also a Radcliffe Institute Scholar; Massachusetts State Representative Doris Bunte.
