Cambridge Police are seeking David S. Reese '76 who has been missing since March 7.

W.C. Burriss Young '55, assistant dean of Freshmen, said yesterday that Reese left his room in Straus between 2 and 4 p.m. on Wednesday and has not returned since then.

The Cambridge Police have issued an all points bulletin with Reese's description over police radios in all states on the Eastern seaboard.

Reese has blond hair and blue eyes. He is six feet tall and weighs 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue parka, a wool flannel shirt and hiking boots.

No Indication

Reese's roommates last saw him Tuesday night. They became worried because Reese left no indication as to where he had gone. They said yesterday that Reese has never taken off like this before.

Young notified Reese's family in Great Neck, Long Island, New York about their son's disappearance. Marvin Reese, David's father, came to Cambridge on Friday and contacted various people in an attempt to get a possible lead to his son's location. The Harvard Police aided the father in his search.

Reese's father waited until Sunday to report to the Cambridge Police that his son had been missing.

Excavations

David Reese was interested in archaeology and has spent several summers working at excavations in Cyprus. Farish A. Jenkins, associate professor of Biology, said Sunday that Reese planned to return to Cyprus this summer.

Reese has been studying fossil pygmy elephants and hippopotamuses in the Museum of Comparative Zoology collection. Jenkins said that Reese hoped to augment the museum collection of early Cyprus fauna through his excavations this summer.

Jenkins said that Reese was a "very bright soul" and "not an unstable person who would leave without telling anyone."

Laurel Casjens, Reese's tutor in Anthropology, said yesterday that Reese was present for tutorial last Tuesday. She said that he joined in the group discussion as he ususally did but he said nothing out of the ordinary.

Helen Banks, a librarian at the Museum of Comparative Zoology, said yesterday that Reese's father and a Harvard policeman asked her Saturday morning if she could identify a picture of Reese.

Reese's father was unavailable for comment.
