An injury-plagued Harvard soccer team will try to upset Brown's Ivy League title hopes today when the two teams clash at Aldrich-Dexter Field in Providence.

Assistant coach Seamus Malin said last night, "I think Bruce [head coach Munro] and the rest of the squad feels this is a game we go into with nothing to lose."

The Bruins, leading the Ivy League and ranked No. 2 in New England, need wins over Harvard and Columbia next week to sew the title up.

"They're pretty solid all over," Munro of the Crimson said yesterday. "But one of their problems, like most of the teams in the league this year, is to score."

A win against NCAA tournament playoff-bound Brown "would be doubtful even if we were healthy," Monro went on to say, and then listed Harvard's injured.

Players Injured

Halfback Rick LaCivita, who injured his leg in the Tufts game, practiced this week but may be hobbled, Monro said. Tony Van Neil will play with an injured ankle and Brian Fearnett and Bob Auritt are nursing hurts.

Brown Scorers

Cliff Stevenson's Brown squad, 7-3-1 overall and 4-1 in the Ivy League, depends on two players up front for their scoring. Harvard goalie Steve Kidder and Brian Fearnett and the fullbacks will have to contend with Bruin tri-captain Bill Frost and Ferdinand Treusacher, a second team All-Ivy choice last year.

Frost, also second team All-Ivy last year, was characterized by Malin as a "come from behind" player and Treusacher has scored four goals in three games since changing from the defensive backfield to the front line.

"We'll play our same game," Monro said and added he would adjust as the situation arose. "I do have some things in mind," he said, but added he would "see how the game goes. A lot depends on what happens in the middle of the field."
