For the first time in many years, Harvard students will face the trials of reading period without the Brattle's Bogey Festival.

Due to the unavailability of many Bogart films, the Brattle will be able to present only two pictures, The African Queen and Beat the Devil . In past years Harvard audiences could view 17 or 18 Bogey movies, including such all-time greats as Casablanca, High Sierra, and The Maltese Falcon .

Rumor Has It

Rumor has it that some individual is in the process of purchasing the exclusive rights to all the Bogart flicks. Television networks are also still suspect.

Sye Harvey, head of Brattle Films, did not rule out the possibility of staging a Bogey Festival later in the year and is still attempting to book the movies.

Meanwhile, exam-crammers will have to do without the bi-annual festival that has become as much a part of reading period as dexcarine, all-nighters, and nervous collapse.
