Law Faculty Votes New Study Period

The Law School Faculty voted yesterday to institute a three-day "study" period before final examinations this year for second-and third-year students.

The action came on the recent recommendation of the Committee on Continuing Legal Education, chaired by dean-elect Derek C. Bok, professor of Law. First-year students have had such a "study" period--used for review rather than new reading--since last year.

Acting dean A. James Casner said yesterday that the last three days of regularly scheduled classes will be cancelled, and that each instructor will decide how the missed class time will be made up.
