Freshman Team Tests Crusaders

Burdened with a 15-9 loss to the Jumbos of Tufts last week, Harvard's freshman football team will attempt to redeem itself at Holy Cross today at 3 p.m.

Holy Cross will undoubtedly be a tougher opponent than Tufts was. The only question is whether or not Harvard coach Henry Lamar can assemble a functioning unit or two from his 120 freshmen. It was a combination of mistakes and lack of teamwork which cost Harvard the game last week.

In an attempt to get his team to jell somewhat, Lamar organized a scrimmage with the Boston College freshman Wednesday. Against Holy Cross today, Lamar will have his players going both ways in order to test them in as many situations as possible.

At quarterback, most of the duties will be split between Jim Reynolds and Frank Champi. Both performed well at Tufts. Other promising backs in the Tufts game were halfbacks Ray Hornblower and Neal Hurley and fullback Gus Crim.
