HCUA Referendum Scheduled for Today

The Harvard Council for Undergraduate Affairs will hold a referendum today on a constitutional amendment which would provide increased representation for the freshman class on the Council.

As presently constituted, the H.C.U.A. includes no freshman representatives during the Fall term. In the Spring, three men appointed by the Freshman Council serve on the H.C.U.A.

The new amendment would allow the Freshman Council to appoint three H.C.U.A. members for the Fall term. The freshman class would elect representatives to serve during the Spring and remain in office through the following Fall.

At present, freshmen elect representatives in the Spring to serve only during the first half of their sophomore year.

Each House elects one member at large and had one member appointed by the House Committee.
