Librarian in Lamont To Form Committee

"With the Student Council presently up in the air," Henry James, Lamont Librarian, said yesterday that he plans to form his own student library committee. The new group, James said, "won't just be concerned with what is wrong," but will act in many areas.

In other changes, students will be expected to pay cash for fines under $1. According to James, the Bursar's Office has informed him that the high cost of bureaucracy makes collection of small fines a losing proposition. "Students were getting off scot-free," James said.

Books from the general Lamont collection are now due two weeks from the way on which they are charged out, with one renewal possible. This replaces the previous custom of making all books due on Wednesday. Reserve book circulation will operate as it did last spring.
