The freshman hockey team held B.U.'s highly-publicized Canadian center Bob Marquis to one goal yesterday and registered its sixth straight victory of the season and second over B.U. by a score of 5 to 3.

The Yardlings, playing their third game in four days, were clearly tired, but the disorganization of the Terrier attack prevented the Boston University sextet from taking advantage of this weakness.

Marquis, who scored 15 goals in five games earlier this season, was one of the best individual players on the ice, but his consistent failure to pass to his teammates made it fairly simple for the Yardling defensemen.

Marquis began the game's scoring with a goal at 2:55 of the first period, but nine minutes later Yardling wing Pete Rient took a pass from Dick Kalil and tapped the puck into the corner of the B.U. cage to tie the score. George Herrick put the freshmen ahead a minute before the period ended.

Two quick goals at the beginning of the second period seemed to give the Yardlings a commanding lead. With a Terrier player in the penalty box, Rient and Kalil tallied within five seconds of each other. But B.U. reduced the lead to 4 to 3 later in the period on scores by Bill Hodgkins and Dave McLeod.

In the last minute of the roughly-contested third period, Mike Graney put the Yardlings out of reach with a ten foot drive into the Terrier nets.
