Thirteen-Year-Old Boy to Enter University; Not Youngest Ever Admitted, Bender Says

A 18-year-old boy will attend the University on a scholarship next year.

Arthur I. Reade, Jr., who has a genius IQ rating of 176, is "one of the youngest ever admitted to the University," Dean Bender said.

He completed the first grade in one week, the second grad in two weeks, and then spent the rest of the school year finishing the third grade. After spending the usual amount of time in the fourth and fifth grade, he skipped the sixth. Two more ordinary school years passed, however, before Reade reached Way-mouth High school which he went through in three years. In achieving this remarkable record, Reade attended five schools in eight years.

On entering the University next fall, Reade will carry with him a certificate showing that he has already fulfilled his language requirement in French.

Though not the youngest ever admitted to the University, Reade will definitely be the youngest graduate in the history of Weymouth High School when he receives his diploma at the June 3 commencement exercises.
