Ralph "Tiger" Jones, unranked battler from Yonkers, N.Y., banged a unanimous 10-round decision over former middle-weight champion Sugar Ray Robinson at the Chicago Stadium last night.

The nationally-televised bout was a terrific blow to the hopes of Robinson, who came out of a 30-month boxing retirement in hopes of recapturing the 160-pound crown from present champion Bobo Olson.

Fort Wayne broke a six-game Boston winning streak and pushed the Celtics into a first place Eastern Division tie with Syracuse last night as the Pistons posted a 105-84 National Basketball Assn. victory at the U. of Mass, gym in Amherst.

Syracuse tied for the division load in the N.B.A. last night with a 98-97 decision over Philadelphia at Hershey, Pa.
