Curran Scores Only Crimson Point At IC4A Track Meet on Saturday

Last year's track team scored no points in the IC4A meet this year's team surpassed it by one in New York Saturday.

Weight man Bob Curran saved the team from being shut out by capturing a fifth place in the 35-pound weight throw. His throw of 52'5" was his best effort of the year.

Al Howe in the 600 and Hal Gerry in the mile ran their fastest races of the year. Neither, however, managed to score. Hurdlers Bob Twitchell and Bob Rittenburg made only the semifinals and quarterfinals respectively.

Coach Bill McCurdy said last night that his team did as well as could be expected.

Manhattan College last year's winner, repeated its victory this year.

Villanova's Fred Dwyer, unbeaten against all comers, set a meet record in the mile with a time of 4:08.1. In the 6000, Penn State's Ollie Sax also set a new time of 1:10.4.
