Commuters Seek Full Voting Seat On Annex Council

Ballots distributed after Spring Vacation will decide whether or not the Radcliffe Commuters will have a seat on the Annex Student Council next year.

The Commuters have submitted a petition to the Council requesting that they be allowed to elect a president who would be able to vote with the Council.

At a meeting of Commuters yesterday afternoon, students pointed out that they should try to get representative power this year before Holmes Hall reduces their number and influence. At present Commuters make up 25 percent of the student body. The new Hall will diminish their number by at least five percent.

The Commuters also discussed their need for a vote in the Council when the Holmes Hall Library issue comes up. Commuters expressed the wish that the record collection he left at the Radcliffe Library, where dormitory students could use it more easily than the Commuters could use the library at Holmes Hall. Also, the record collection is more necessary to Commuters taking Music 1, since they cannot get WRRB in their human.

Another point of the meeting was that Commuters should have been able to vote on the dues which were levied on them for the first time this fall by the Student Government. Although they don't object to the dues, they think that such matters should be decided by the people concerned.

At present, the Dorm-Commander Committee and the Agassiz Committee are the only two organizations that represent the Commuters.
