Harford's 353 in Summer Contests Sets Batting Pace

Senseney and Fiorentino Also Share Varsity Hitting Lead' Moravee Tops Pitehing Staff

With Bill Harford's average of 353 setting; the pace in the hitting department and Vince Mervee's hurling topping he moundsmen, the Crimson Varsity has cinched a .500 mark for he scheduled summer season.

The only remaining game on the schedule is with the Boston University Terriers who have handed the Crimson their only two defeats of the summer. Another tilt with Squantum is also being considered by Coach Adolph Samborski.

Harford, Johnny Fiorentino, Charlie Sensency, and Moravee are the big stickmen of the season. Together they have accounted for 11 of the 20 Crimson earned runs. Samorski will find good use for these four big bats next spring.

Another batsmen who has boosted the Varsity along is the last two contests is Davie Farrell. He is hitting for a cool .667 and he laced out an all-important two-bagger in the last Squantum game.

Bill Harford's .353 mark has been a big help in keeping the Crimson average over the .500 mark. Although he went four for zero in Wednesday's tilt against Squantum Harford has been a valuable asset in the batter's box.
