Princeton aspirations to enter the dual Crimson-Blue crew race at Now London last night seemed doomed as officials of Harvard and Yale said that a third entry would be impossible due to the narow channel.

A recent column in the Princetonian and a letter from a Tiger alumnus first broached the idea that the New London race be extended to include the Big Three.

"Harvard Conservatism" Would Blook

The columnist on the "Prince" pointed out that tradition and "Harvard conservatism" would be the principal objectors to a Bengal entry, although many years ago the race included crews "from Dartmouth on up."

William J. Bingham '16, Harvard Athletic Director, refused to comment officially; Yale's Athletic Director is in New York and could not be reached yesterday. However, officials at both colleges stated that the "channel is too narrow, and the currents are too varying for three crews."

Eli Coach Leader told the Yale News last night that he had no personal feelings about a Princeton entry but said, "I think tradition will prove too strong."

Reasons prompting the Princeton proposal of entering the race were based on the fact that the Tiger crew has no climax race. Admitting that recent Nassau shells have not ranked with those of their Big Three rivals, the paper's columnist suggested that improvement in crew calibre might result from competition at New London.
