Funsters Drop Decision to Bunnies in Tutoring Debate

Leverett Senior Common Room Houses Battle Over Schools

Arguing against the abolition of tutoring schools, the Leverett House debating team eked out a favorable decision, downing the Dunster debaters last night in the Leverett House Senior Common Room.

Bunnies defending the cause of the tutoring schools, were John W. Rice '41 and Leon S. Lipson '41, while Daniel R. Crusius '40 and Charles E. Knoblauch, 2nd '41 spoke for the Funsters.

The judges were Vincent McD. Barnett, Jr., instructor in Government, and Henry Nash Smith, Fellow in American History. Stanley O. Beren '41, chairman of the Inter-House Debating Council, presided.

According to Beren, the purpose of the debate was to stimulate widespread undergraduate interest in the question broached recently by the CRIMSON, although only 25 were present at the discussion
