Halted after 11 innings of seesaw baseball because of darkness, the Crimson nine was forced to be content with a 9 to 9 tie in its games Saturday with St. John's at Soldiers Field.

Coach Fred Mitchell's ace hurler, Ed Ingalls, kept the opposition's 13 hits well scattered with the exception of the disastrous fourth inning, when St. John's capitalized on four solid blows and two errors to chalk up six runs.

Bllodeau Scores Tying Run

In a game in which the lead changed hands three times, the Crimson batters pounded a trio of enemy twirlers for 11 hits. Captain Tom Bilodeau, who crossed the plate with the tying run in the eight, led the Varsity at bat with a single and a triple.

With the bases loaded by virtue of passes to Bilodeau, and Jim sullivan and Buster McacTernen's infield single, chances for a Crimson victory in the tenth appeared bright. But the St. John's pitcher, Irving Prince, forced Dave Shean to hit into a fast double play, ending the inning.

Holy Cross Blanks Yardling 11-0.

Hold to three hits by the opposing pitcher, Johnny Klarmich, the Yardlings were shut out 11 to 0 by the Holy Cross Freshmen at Soldiers Field Saturday. Crimson twirlers, John Woodward and Tom Healey, allowed the enemy only seven hits, while their teammates were committing seven errors in the field.
