House Bats, Rackets, Oars to Start Swinging on April 15

Spring schedules for inter-House baseball, tennis and golf will start the first Thursday after vacation, April 15, Adolph W. Samborski '26, Director of Intramural Athletics, announced last night. Booklets carrying full schedules for all spring intramural sports are being printed by the H.A.A. and will be distributed in the Houses early next week.

Yale Contests

Friday, May 21, is the date set this year for games between Yale and Harvard intramural winners in the respective sports; the results of these contests, together with those of Yale-Harvard winners in fall and winter athletics, will determine which of the two universities will receive the Harkness Intramural Trophy this year. The Crimson Eli tennis match and crew race will take place here, while the baseball and golf clashes occur at New Haven.

Track Meet May 19

There will also be an Interhouse Track Meet on Wednesday, May 19, according to Samborski. Not open to Varsity cindermen, it will not contain any race longer than the mile, and some of the events may be modified from the regular Varsity schedule depending on how many men turn out.

Crew Meeting Yesterday

Crew managers from the seven Houses and Dudley Hall met yesterday with Samborski to discuss the question of whether or not two trial heats will be held on Thursday, May 6, to reduce the number of boats in the final inter-House race on Tuesday, May 18, from eight to four. If this plan is followed only the winners of first and second in each of the trial heats will row in the final race, and the handicap of over-crowding due to having too many shells on the water will be avoided. Final decision was postponed till later.
