Crimson Has Triumphed Over Big Green 25 Times in Series Which Began in 1884--Goal-Line Uncrossed for 14 Years

Harvard's Total of 643 Points is Three Times That of Dartmouth

Harvard has a decided edge in the Harvard-Dartmouth football series which began in 1884. The Crimson has been on the long end of the score 25 times while the Big Green only carried home the bacon on six occasions. Two games ended in a tie.

Beginning the series exactly 45 years ago Harvard was supreme for 16 years in a row. The team from Hanover scored nary a point for the first 14 years of that Crimson dynasty. It was not until 1901 that Harvard's goal line was crossed by the Green, when they chalked up 12 points to Harvard's 27.

Following this there were two tie games and another Dartmouth victory and then Harvard again assumed the upper arm and remained unbeaten until 1922. Since then however, the Green has four games chalked up in the credit column against Harvard's two.

Following is the summary of the Harvard-Dartmouth series: Year Winner  H.  D. 1884--Harvard  26  0 1886--Harvard  70  0 1888--Harvard  74  0 1889--Harvard  38  0 1890--Harvard  43  0 1890--Harvard  64  0 1891--Harvard  16  0 1892--Harvard  48  0 1893--Harvard  16  0 1894--Harvard  22  0 1895--Harvard  4  0 1897--Harvard  13  0 1898--Harvard  21  0 1899--Harvard  11  0 1901--Harvard  27  12 1902--Harvard  16  6 1903--Dartmouth  0  11 1904--Tie  0  0 1905--Tie  6  6 1906--Harvard  22  9 1907--Dartmouth  0  22 1908--Harvard  6  0 1909--Harvard  12  3 1910--Harvard  18  0 1911--Harvard  5  3 1912--Harvard  3  0 1922--Harvard  12  3 1923--Dartmouth  0  16 1924--Dartmouth  0  6 1925--Dartmouth  9  32 1926--Harvard  16  12 1927--Dartmouth  6  30 1928--Harvard  19  7
