Completely outclassing their opponents in the opening game of the Commonwealth League, the 1931 polo team downed the Fifty-first Artillery Brigade by the score of 12 1/2-1 in their game at the Commonwealth Armory Saturday night.

Handicapped one goal at the start of the game the first year mallet-wielders soon wiped out this lead and were not headed again. E. K. Jenkins '31 was the highest scorer for the 1931 trio, driving the ball into his opponent's goal no less than seven times. Not far behind him, however, was E. T. Gerry '31 who tallied six times.

In the second chukker Gerry tried a backhand shot, missed the ball, and was thrown from his pony. He received a bad shaking-up but soon after remounted and continued play.

So far superior was the team play of the Freshman poloists that the Artillery was able to score only once, that point coming in the third chukker when Storer scored on an individual dash down the right side of the riding ring.
