With a meeting at 7 o'clock this evening in the Freshman Gymnasium of University and Freshman wrestling candidates, the 1927-28 mat season will get under way. Experience will be no factor in the initial practice, as all new men will be started on the same basis, with a drill on fundamentals.
University wrestling will not start in earnest until after the close of the foot-ball season, while the first-year mat men will hold an introductory meet in the latter part of December, and will settle down to serious practice in January. Wrestling candidates are asked to report at the meeting tonight whether they intend to start work at once or at the close of football.
The University schedule follows: January 7, Tufts College; January 14, Columbia at New York; February 11, Springfield; February 18, Army at West Point; February 25, Brown; February 29, M. I. T.; March 3, Williams; and March 10, Yale. The season will close with the New England Intercollegiate Wrestling Championships at Tufts on March 16 and 17.
