The Freshman swimming team was overwhelmed in its meet with the Yale 1921 team at New Haven Saturday by a score of 43 to 10. The Elis won every first and all but two second places. Binney of Yale took the 50-yard dash in 25 2-5 seconds, only a fifth of a second over the national intercollegiate record established by S. E. Hoadley of Yale in 1914.

J. H. Eaton '21 in the plunge, and A. Levy '21 in the fancy diving were the only Freshmen to secure second places.

Yale 1921 had a very strong, well-balanced team, with fresh men for every event. Captain L. N. Thurston was the leading point-getter, winning the 100-yard dash in the fast time of 58 seconds, and placing second to Binney in the fifty. The Yale yearlings had no difficulty in winning the relay in one minute, 48 2-5 seconds. The summary of events follows (the relay counted eight points for the winner and none for the loser):

Plunge.--Won by Tyler, Yale, 58 ft.; second, J. H. Eaton '21, 52 ft.; third, H. W. Toepke '21, 46 ft.

100-yard dash.--Won by Thurston, Yale; second, Milroy, Yale; third, E. R. Sumner '21. Time, 58 s.

220-yard dash.--Won by Thompson, Yale; second, Popkins, Yale; third, F. S. Stranahan '21. Time, 2m., 54 3-5 s.
