RECORD CLOTHING COLLECTION

Magazines Sent to Soldiers While Text-Books Remain in Cambridge.

The largest collection of clothing, text books and magazines made in recent years has just been completed by Phillips Brooks House. In all 96 coats and an equal number of trousers, 147 shirts and 137 pairs of shoes were gathered up. The collection included every type of clothing.

The text-books will be added to the Phillips Brooks House Loan Library and the magazines will be sent to the troops doing service on the Mexican border; to European battle-fronts, and to H. L. Nash 16 and D. H. Ingram '16 for their work in India. The clothing will be sent to neighboring charitable institutions and as last year, to Tuskegee and other Southern institutions.

The complete count of articles collected has been tabulated as follows: over-coats, 12; coats, 96; trousers, 96; vests, 84; raincoats, 3; shirts, 147; collars, 214; neckties, 205; underwear, 27 suits; socks, '30 pairs; pajamas, 12 suits; shoes, 137 pairs; hats, 44; sweaters, 4; gloves, 3 pairs; text books, 206; magazines, about 500 pounds.
