TWO HARD SCRIMMAGES

UNIVERSITY TEAM AGAIN DEFEATED FRESHMEN IN FOOTBALL PRACTICE.

The last hard scrimmage for the University football squad in preparation for the Amherst game took place yesterday afternoon. The first part of the scrimmaging was between two teams of approximately equal calibre chosen by Coach Haughton. Wendell, Brickley and Logan made up the backfield on one team, while H. Hardwick, Bradlee, and Freedley played on the other. The latter team won on a beautiful drop-kick by Milholland, from the 30-yard line and a brilliant run of 30 yards by Bradlee for a touchdown. T. Frothingham kicked the goal.

Following this a scrimmage between the University and Freshman elevens was held. The latter team put up a much stiffer defense and game in general than it did the day before, and it was with difficulty that the University team won by the score of 10 to 0. Three times the University team got into the Freshman territory because of Watson's fumbling of Felton's punts. On one of these occasions, Brickley scored with a drop-kick from the 20-yard line. On another, Wendell made a touchdown by a line plunge from the 15-yard line, T. Frothingham kicking the goal.

The Freshmen then rallied, and succeeded in carrying the ball to the University team's 5-yard line, where they were stopped.
