LACROSSE WON FROM HOBART

University Team Victorious, 8 to 1, In First Championship Game.

The University lacrosse team easily defeated Hobart in the Stadium yesterday by the score of 8 to 1. This game was the first Harvard has played in the northern division of the intercollegiate championship series and was a much easier game than had been expected. Harvard's team-play was very good and on the attack the combinations were especially well worked out. The University team showed better stick-work than in any previous game this season and was superior to Hobart in every respect, especially in endurance.

J. P. Morgan made the first goal for Harvard on a pass from Shaw. He also made the next two scores, both on passes from Blackett. Smith scored next, working the ball in for quite a distance from the goal before shooting. Shaw got a very pretty goal on a long pass from Smith a few minutes before the end of the half.

Shaw scored again in the beginning of the second half, Blackett made the seventh goal and Church then shot Hobart's only goal almost immediately afterwards. About five minutes before time was called Shaw made his third goal, leaving the score 8 to 1. Nash, Blackett, and J. P. Morgan all played well for the University team. The summary: HARVARD.  HOBART.
