BASEBALL TEAM PLAYS BATES

On Soldiers Field at 4 o'clock.--Rogers Will Take Aronson's Place.

The University baseball team will meet Bates on Soldiers Field this afternoon at 4 o'clock.

Rogers will have his first chance with the University team and will play in the outfield, probably in right field, Babson shifting over to the place left vacant in centre field by the injury to Aronson. Hicks will do the pitching and Marshall will be at shortstop, as Carr has not yet recovered from the blow in the head which he received at Princeton.

Last year Bates was overwhelmed in the game here by the score of 12 to 0. The team this year contains four of the same men as played last year--Keaney, Lamorey, Dorman, and Harriman. It has not shown much strength in its games this season, and was barely able to defeat Andover last Wednesday, 8 to 7. Bates has been beaten by New Hampshire State College, 6 to 5, and by the University of Maine, 5 to 0. The University team may be expected to win with little difficulty.

The batting orders: HARVARD.  BATES. Lanigan, 3b.  s.s., Keaney McLaughlin, 1b.  c., Griffin Babson, c.f., or r.f.  3b., Lamorey Potter, 2b.  r.f., Bickford Hicks, p.  l.f., Cole Marshall, s.s.  1b., Dorman Kelly, l.f.  c.f., Irish Young, c.  2b., Brady Rogers, r.f., or c.f.  p., Harriman
