Section 1. The annual election for president, vice-president, secretary, and the standing committees shall be held on the first Thursday in April.

Section 2. The Governing Board shall nominate two or more candidates for each office and each place on the committees to be elected at the annual election.

Section 3. Nominations shall be made and posted two weeks before the date of the election; but a belated nomination, if supported by the signatures of fifty active members, who are students of Harvard University, may be inserted in the list up to within three days of election day.

Section 7. All active and life members shall have the right to vote.

New Plan for Life Members.

In order to induce students to become life members of the Union before they leave the University and to make it easier for graduate students and men who have just left the University to become members, the following is proposed.

Participating Life Members: A student spending his final year in an undergraduate department of the University, or a student in any graduate department of the University, or any past member of the University, may become a participating life member by the payment of $10 at the time of application for such membership, and by signing at the time an agreement to pay within the period of four years thereafter, $40, in annual installments of not less than $10 each.

A participating life member upon payment of the last installment to complete the required fee of $50 shall, thereupon, become a life member. A participating life member, who, after due notice, fails to pay any one of such annual instalments, when the same is due, shall cease to be a member of the Union, and the payments already made by him shall be deemed payment for dues for the period during which he was a participating life member.
