OBITUARY.

Henry Austin Clapp '60.

Henry Austin Clapp '60, clerk of the Massachusetts Supreme Court, died from pneumonia at his home in Dorchester last Friday, after a very short illness. He was sixty-two years old.

Mr. Clapp was born in Dorchester on July 17, 1841, and graduated from this University in 1860, receiving the degree of LL.B., four years later. He practiced law in Boston until appointed to the clerkship of the Supreme Court. He was widely known as a Shakespearian scholar and render and for more than thirty years he wrote dramatic criticism for The Boston Advertiser. During the the past year Mr. Clapp was dramatic critic for The Boston Herald. In 1894 the University conferred on him the honorary degree of A. M.
