Captain Campbell yesterday made the following statement as to the eligibility of Cutts, whose amateur standing was questioned in a dispatch from New Haven printed yesterday morning by the Boston Herald:

"Mr. Cutts is eligible to the football teams at Harvard and Yale, by the rules which prevail at both universities. There is no question of professionalism and there has been none. The management has not received a protest from Yale. Mr. Cutts was in intercollegiate athletics three years at Bates, taught mathematics four years at Haverford College Preparatory School, and is now in the second year of the Harvard Law School."

In response to an inquiry as to a statement published in the New Haven Register yesterday that Cutts and two other Harvard players would be protested, the CRIMSON received the following telegram from the Yale News:

NEW HAVEN, Conn., Nov. 18.-We know of no official protest. Unless Yale changes her policy there will be none. A meeting of coaches was held tonight but nothing is given out so far. The reports circulated are merely newspaper talk. YALE NEWS.
