Weld Crews.

The Weld Senior, Intermediate and Junior crews are now looking forward to the Metropolitan regatta, June 17, and the races at Worcester on June 21. These two regattas will practically terminate the Weld rowing season, although if the Senior crew is successful on both occasions, they will in all likelihood be sent to Philadelphia to compete in the People's regatta on July 4.

From present indications it would seem that such will be the outcome. The Senior crew is improving in form and speed to an extent that is extremely encouraging. Under fair conditions they recently rowed a mile and a half time trial in 7m. 48s. The appearance of the men is splendid. They are an exceptionally well boated crew, and row a powerful long stroke, that has as its best features a strong drag and hard finish. Donovan who has entire charge of the coaching is fully satisfied with the men and has no doubt as to the crew's ability to win all its scheduled races.

On June 17 they will meet the fast crews from the Riverside and Millstream Boat Clubs. These two entries are considered the most dangerous.

In the Intermediate and Junior events there is hardly a crew in New England that can successfully compete against the Weld eights and they will probably have no difficulty in winning.
