The editors of the Advocate offer a silver cup, valued at fifty dollars, as a prize for the best short story submitted during the remainder of the year, under the following conditions:
1. Any undergraduate of Harvard College or Lawrence Scientific School, not at present an editor of the Advocate, may compete.
2. Stories must be between 1000 and 4000 words in length and must be in the possession of the Advocate board before June 1, 1896. Mark stories "Prize Stories."
3. To be eligible to competition, stories must be accepted by the literary committee of the Advocate. No story already accepted will be eligible for competition.
4. A competitor may submit any number of stories.
5. The judges shall be three instructors in the English department to be selected by Professor Hill.
6. The decision of these judges shall be announced in the last number of the Advocate for the volume ending in June, 1896.
The cup will be on exhibition January 15, in the CRIMSON office.
