The first meeting of the shooting club this year at which the Founders cup was competed for was held yesterday afternoon. There were eight contestants, who each shot at fifteen birds.
The best shooting was done by Pierce, Pike and Sargent; the last two being tied for second place. Pierce won the cup with a total of thirteen birds. It was the first time Pierce had shot for the cup, which becomes the property of the man who shall win it eight times in all or four times in succession.
The next meeting of the club will be held on Tuesday when the Founders cup will again be competed for. The captain wishes all men who can shoot to attend the meetings which are usually held every Tuesday and Friday.
